1. What this covers
This policy explains how MyKinkSpace uses cookies and similar storage (local storage) on mykinkspace.com. It should be read with the Privacy Policy and GDPR notice.
We currently use only cookies and storage that are strictly necessary to run a logged-in social site and to keep the community 21+. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or third-party ad networks.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Local storage is a similar browser feature. Some cookies last only while the browser is open (session). Others persist until they expire or you delete them.
3. Cookies and storage we use
- Authentication (essential). Host-only session cookies set by our sign-in system (including names such as __Host-grok-auth.session_token and related session data). They keep you logged in, protect against cross-site abuse, and expire with the session or a limited cache window. These are strictly necessary.
- Age gate (essential). Local storage key mykinkspace-21 remembers that you confirmed you are 21 or older so we are not required to ask on every page load. This is necessary to restrict the service to adults.
- Cookie notice (essential). Local storage key mykinkspace-cookies remembers that you dismissed this notice.
If you sign in with Google or X, those companies may set their own cookies on their sites during the sign-in flow. Their policies apply to that process.
4. Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies do not require opt-in consent under the ePrivacy rules as implemented in the EU/UK when they are essential to provide a service you request (log-in, security, age restriction). If we later add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for consent first and list them here.
5. How to control cookies
You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, or use private browsing. Blocking essential cookies will prevent log-in and the age gate from working. Browser help pages:
- Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge: settings → privacy → cookies and site data.
We do not currently respond to Global Privacy Control for advertising because we do not run ad cookies.
6. Changes
If we add optional cookies, we will update this page and, where required, request consent. The “Last updated” date is the effective date.
