1. Purpose
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy for people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. It describes how we handle personal data under the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, and related laws. If this notice conflicts with the Privacy Policy for those people, this notice controls.

2. Categories of data
- Identity and contact: email, username, display name.
- Profile and community data: photos, about text, roles, location at city/state/country level, hang-out status.
- Special-category data (Art. 9): information you choose to provide about adult sexual life, kink identity, or related interests. We do not infer this about you from third-party sources.
- Content you create: posts, messages, comments, reports.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser, security logs, cookies as listed in the Cookies Policy.
3. Legal bases
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): creating an account, logging in, storing your profile, delivering feed, groups, and messages — the free service you ask us to provide.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a)): processing special-category adult profile data you volunteer; non-essential cookies if we ever use them (we currently use essential cookies only). You may withdraw consent by deleting those fields or your account. Withdrawal does not affect prior processing.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the community 21+, preventing abuse, securing accounts, defending legal claims, and operating a free social network in a way that does not override your rights.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): responding to valid legal process and record-keeping we are required to keep.
4. Your rights
Subject to legal limits, you may:
- Access a copy of your personal data.
- Rectify inaccurate data (you can also edit most profile fields in Settings).
- Erase data (“right to be forgotten”), including by deleting your account.
- Restrict processing in certain cases.
- Receive data you provided in a commonly used format (portability).
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, email privacy@mykinkspace.com from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within one month, or explain if we need more time (up to two further months for complex requests).
We do not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Transfers outside the EEA/UK
The service is operated from the United States. If you use MyKinkSpace from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, your data is transferred to the United States. Where required, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and UK addendum) with processors, plus technical measures such as encryption in transit. By creating an account you understand this transfer is necessary to provide the service.
6. Processors
We use hosting, database, authentication, and email providers as processors bound by contract to process data only on our instructions. Password-reset mail is sent from privacy@mykinkspace.com. We do not allow processors to sell your data.
7. Retention
We retain data while your account is active. After you request deletion we remove profile and content we do not need, and retain only what is necessary for security, legal claims, or legal obligation, then delete or irreversibly anonymize it.
8. Supervisory authorities
You may complain to the data protection authority in your country of residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. A list of EEA authorities is published by the European Data Protection Board. UK users may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
9. Liability
MyKinkSpace is a free service. Statutory data-protection rights are not waived. Separate from those rights, contractual liability for use of the free service is limited as described in the Terms of Use (including a $0 contractual liability cap where permitted).
